Testing your new Bivy Stick

After your device has been activated through the Bivy app, we recommend testing it to ensure you are ready for your first adventure. To test your device, power it on and place it outside with a clear view of the sky then follow these steps: 

1. Put your phone in Airplane mode
2. Open the Bivy app
3. Connect to your device
4. Click "Messages" from the bottom menu 
5. Add a recipient phone number 
6. Type a message
7. Click send (the message will be sent via satellite from your Bivy number)
8. When the message is received, respond to it 
9. Watch for the response in the Bivy app

*Satellite messaging is not instantaneous, so please allow several minutes for the message to send https://bivysupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/8119848766235-What-to-expect-for-turnaround-time-when-sending-Bivy-Stick-text-messages. 

If you are able to successfully send and receive a message, then your device is communicating with the satellite properly and is ready for use.
